Our clients Schools & institutions

Films for schools and institutions. Big ideas, made clear.

We make films for universities, schools, museums, art spaces and research centers that help people learn, visit and believe in the work.

How we think about it

Teach it, then show it.

Universities, schools, museums, art spaces and research centers all have the same problem: important work that is hard to explain in a minute. We help them show it instead. We've filmed immersive art at Wonderspaces, vaccine education with the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona's Tribal Epidemiology Center and patient stories for Nektar's research.

Here's the short version:

  1. 01

    Who we work with

We work with universities, schools, museums, art spaces, libraries, foundations and research centers.

  2. 02

    How we help

We research the subject first, then let teachers, researchers and artists explain it in their own words.

  3. 03

    What we make

We make explainers, recruiting films, donor and grant films, exhibition films and short documentaries.

  4. 04

    Where it plays

The films play in classrooms and lobbies, at galas, in grant reports and on websites and social.

We do our homework before we film, so we can ask the questions that get experts talking like people. We keep it honest and plain, and we let the work speak for itself. Most institutions need more than one film from a shoot, so we plan the recruiting cut, the donor cut and the social cuts before we roll. Here are a few films that fit the bill:

Questions

What people usually ask us.

These two questions come up in almost every first call:

What do schools and institutions use films for?

Mostly to explain the work, recruit students and staff, bring in donors and grants, and invite people to visit. One shoot can cover all of them if we plan the cuts up front.

Can you explain complex research on camera?

Yes. We read up first, then let the people who do the work explain it in their own words, and we add visuals where words aren't enough. We've done it for Nektar's cancer research and for the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona's vaccine education.

Fields

Where we've done it.

Most of our work for schools and institutions happens in the first few of these, and we bring the same care to all of them:
