How much does a film cost?
It depends on what the film needs to do. A project can run anywhere from $1,000 to $1,000,000. Most land in the thousands to tens of thousands, and bigger productions and series reach into the hundreds of thousands. Video pricing is famously foggy, so we keep it simple: tell us your goal and your budget, and we'll come back quickly with a fair number.
How long does a film take?
It can be as quick as a day or as long as a year. When you're in a hurry, we can shoot and edit a film in a single day. Projects with more research, writing, shooting and editing take longer. Either way, you'll know the schedule before we start.
Where is Thrill Wave based?
We're based in Phoenix, Arizona. We shoot all over the state, work with national companies, and have traveled as far as Ireland for a story.
What kind of films do you make?
We make documentaries and docuseries, explainers, educational films, documentary-style testimonials, culture and recruiting films, event recaps and short cuts for social. We've made them for medicine, sports, events, food, professional services, tech, industrial work, products, tribal nations and government.
Who do you work with?
We work with organizations of every kind: filmmakers and media, nonprofits and public service, businesses, and agencies and PR firms. Some are local businesses down the street, and some are names like the NFL, UBS and Boston Scientific.
Can you handle the whole project, or just part of it?
We can do either. You can bring us in for one piece, like a shoot day or an edit, or for the whole thing from research to the final cut. When we do it all, the same crew carries your project from start to finish, so nothing gets lost along the way.
Who will work on my project?
The same crew carries your project from the first call to the final cut. You'll always know who to talk to, and it will be someone who's been there since the start.
What is a SITREP?
SITREP is short for situation report, and it's our research. Before we film, we dig into your craft, your peers, your industry and the wider field you work in. Then we bring you a point of view on the story worth telling, one that lines up with what you're trying to get done. It's a bit like having your own research team that cares about the story as much as you do.
Do you work with agencies and PR firms?
Yes. Creative agencies and PR firms hire us to produce films under their own name. We work from your brief, on your timeline, and stay in the background.
Do you rent gear?
Yes. We rent out our cinema cameras, lenses and lighting, and you can take them with or without our crew.
How do we get started?
Email us at [email protected], call or text 480-766-9585, or book a 30-minute consult at thrillwave.com/contact. A real person will write back quickly, ask a few questions and send you a clear plan. We get rolling once you're happy with it.
