Industries Tribal Nations

Tribal Nations video. In their own voices.

Public health, education and civic campaigns made with tribal communities, in their own voices.

What we bring

Why they call us.

We make public health, education and civic campaigns with the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, which represents 21 tribal nations. The lesson every time: do the research first, then let community members tell their own stories.

  1. 01

    Who it's for

Tribal governments, councils and tribal health programs.

  2. 02

    How they use us

Research first, then leaders and community members telling their own stories, shot on location.

  3. 03

    What for

Public health, education, civic and cultural campaigns.

Case studies

The results.

  • Education

    ITCA WIC: Dear Mom

Tribal mothers speaking straight to other mothers, so families trust WIC enough to enroll.

  • Awareness

    ITCA TEC: Vaccine education

Vaccine education told by tribal health leaders in their own words, not by outside authorities.

The hard part

What makes it tricky.

  1. 01

    Distrust that was earned

Many communities have good reason to doubt outside campaigns. Our research looks for that history first, so the film speaks to it instead of around it.

  2. 02

    Their voices, not ours

Leaders, elders, mothers and young voters speak for themselves. No outside narrator, no institutional voice.

  3. 03

    Respect on location

We film where people live and work, and we ask before we point a camera at anything.

Questions

Good questions.

Have you worked with tribal governments before?

Yes. Our work for the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona includes WIC nutrition PSAs, vaccine education for its Tribal Epidemiology Center and Your Voice, Your Power, a 10-part docuseries on tribal voting.

What does a SITREP add to a tribal campaign?

It finds the real barrier before we film. For ITCA's WIC program, the research showed the problem was trust, not awareness, and that changed the whole creative direction.
