Why Video Production Is So Expensive

Video connects with people in a way text and photos can't. It can also be more expensive than people expect. So where does the money go?

Equipment

Cinema cameras, lenses, lighting, sound gear and editing software all cost real money to buy, maintain and keep up to date. Better tools give you a better picture, and that gear is part of what you're paying for.

Skilled People

A good film takes a team: writers, directors, camera operators, lighting and sound techs, editors and colorists. Each brings skills that took years to build, and you see the difference on screen.

Time

Video takes more time than most people think. Research, planning, scripting, storyboarding, shooting, editing, color and sound all happen before anyone hits play. The more ambitious the film, the more time it takes.

Locations and Sets

The right setting helps tell the story. Location fees, permits, set design and props add up, especially when the story calls for a specific place or a custom-built set.

Getting It Seen

A finished film needs versions for every place it will live: a full cut for your website, vertical cuts for social, short edits for ads. Each format takes extra work in the edit.

What It Costs With Us

Our projects range from about $1,000 to $1,000,000. Most land somewhere between a few thousand and a few tens of thousands of dollars, depending on what the story needs.

Our pricing is straight, fair and quick. No smoke and mirrors. We'll tell you what your project will cost, what you get and where the money goes.

A great film is an investment, and we want every dollar of it to show on screen.
